First sunny day we have had in a while means I can take a decent photograph.

Not sure what I think of this. Part smitten. Part odd.

And here is a new design that I’m kinda digging.  Might write up a pattern for it. 

As you can see I’m still not knitting/crocheting anything with substance.  No sweaters, no socks, no lace.  Just simple scarves that are kind to my hands.  I miss the big projects but I have to admit its been a big money saver for me this year.  A one skein project is much cheaper than 8 skeins!

Today is my sister’s birthday.  A few days ago was Ms K’s birthday and tomorrow is Shannons.   Doogie (our pup) even has her 10yr birthday this month.  November is apparently super special. 

I’m off to watch Survivor and the finale of Project Runway.  Who will win PR???!!!

First snow of the season today. Nothing to photograph especially since its all gone now after a brief few early AM hours.

Worked a few hours remote watching the snow fall then went back to bed afterwards. Now I’m cruising the internet wasting time while the bedlines fade from my face so I can leave the house! Notice too that the older I get, the longer it takes for my skin to pop back into shape.

How uncool is that?

I’ve got the urge to cook. Always feel this need to bake/cook around this time of year. Which inadvertently leads me to thoughts of my Mother and her cooking for the holidays.

My Mom was probably the only person I’ve ever met who loved the holidays more than me. Just this year she asked me in MARCH what we thought we might be doing for Christmas. I shook my head and said “I dont know Mom, why dont we talk about it in 6 months”. At the time I thought it so funny that she was so anxious and asking about this so early in the season. Possibly a little annoyed too. We won’t talk about the guilt I have over this. Nor the regret now that the holidays are approaching and I’m doubting I’ll even be with family this year.

This absolutely breaks my heart. I have my hubby of course. And he is my life and my love. But its so hard to accept that the holidays I once dreaded/loved/enjoyed are most likely never going to be the same.

I’m still going to cook though. Still going to bake some cookies, try my hand at banana nut bread that I’ll end up burning and throwing out. A turkey will be roasted. Stuffing, pie & cranberry sauce too.

My Mom wouldnt of had it any other way.

Diet January 1st.

Ever have a day where you dont even get out of your jammies?

A day that is about a long afternoon nap with three cats & a slumbering hubby hogging the couch?

Crockpot mystery spicy chili, Dr Pepper and buttered bread are the treats of the day.

A day that is about light knitting, Judge Judy reruns, warm socks and a heater fan placed in your general direction.

You don’t worry about brushing your hair, the dirty dishes in the sink or even opening the drapes to let a smidgent of daylight in.

Today was such a day.

Dreamy.

Tomorrow I bathe. Brush my hair. Wear normal clothing. Attack the dishes piled in the sink. And face the world.

But for a few more hours….I’m thinkin’ I may need another nap.

An unbelieveable song from a wonderful movie.  Brings me to tears every time.

Everyday I find myself hating my job just a little bit more. 

Everyday I find myself holding my tongue and wondering why I don’t just go look for another job.

I have these visions of standing up in the  middle of an office meeting, telling my boss to bite me and just walking out.  Knowing that 90% of the room would be silently cheering me.

Very Norma Rae’like. 

Then I look at my bank account.  And think about Christmas costs.  And how I’m going to be 60 when my mortgage is paid.

And I stay seated in that dark, dreary insane asylum I call work.  Noone applauds.   No Norma Rae.

But someday…..

Rambo has learned to fetch.

And does it particularly well during the 1a-5a hours.

There are gonna be some sleep habit changes in kitty land. 

Speaking of kitty’s – Binky is going to be on the cat version of Oprah. 

Kinda.

I submitted the picture (of her in the baby hat giving me the look of death) to Stuff on My Cat.com and they are going to publish it 11/18.

3 FO’s.  Only 150 more to go.  Must make the yarn closet a yarn tote again.
