A Day Off

Why do I find such joy in a simple day off?   Since moving to the overnight shift – my job is maybe 10% as stressfull as it used to be.   I work alone, noone to babysit.   I knit, read, peruse thru magazines, organize our bills and finally have the time to write letters to friends and family.  But a day off – is like Christmas.

And whats strange is that I don’t really do anything wonderful.  No shopping spree’s or days of beauty.  I watch “The View”.  I boil eggs for tuna salad and devilled eggs.  I make dinner for my guy.  Eat cheesesteak.  I scrub the tub, wash every last dish and throw a load of towels in the washer.

And it makes me happy.

Odd.

Now to blog “all the news that is news across the nation on the scene at the supermarket”.  (50 bonus points if you can name the song I just quoted.) (warning – knowing those lyrics will without a doubt show your age for all the world to see).

First, the reason you are here.  The winnah of the Movie Meme.   Names thrown into a bag and drawn by my hubby.  The…. winner… is Shannon!  No surpise there as she knew just about all of my answers.  We are close in age – and grew up near each other – no wonder!   Wooooo for S Diddy!!   Shannon is one of the few people who I know in blog land that does not knit so I’m doubting she would enjoy the yarn I bought just for the winner.  Therefor I am going to come up with a kicky gift for her and have a runner up prize.  The runner up and winner of the mystery yarn is…. Chris!   Who knows her some Forrest Gump!

Its a sentence.

Congrats to the winners!!  Expect goodies next week!

I have more.  But right now…. eggs are calling my name.  Back soon!!!

  1. “The Streak.” Grew up in Nashville. Didn’t even break a sweat.

  2. LOL.. nice one Kim :-)

To be honest I’m a little embarassed to have won. I got a little carried away, and I knew the prize would be yarn, I just couldn’t help myself (especially after failing so miserably with laurie’s meme). The ‘Woooo’ is plenty…dont fret over a prize for me. I just had fun playing :-)

  3. YEAH Baby!!!

Oh yes, they call him the STREAK – hibby dad, hibby dad!!
